On Saturday afternoon, HRH the Grand Duchess visited the 58th annual International Bazaar which is being held over the weekend of 8-9 December at LuxExpo in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, and was met by Mars di Bartholomeo, President of the Chamber of Deputies, and Lydie Polfer, Mayor of Luxembourg city.
The Grand Duchess was presented with a bouquet of flowers upon her arrival, and then toured a number of national stands.
Earlier in the day, Luxembourg's Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, spent some time exploring the event which comprises 61 national stands offering food, drink and handcrafts for sale, all in the name of charity.
The main charity this year supported by the Bazaar proceeds is "Friends of Portee", a Swedish organisation working in Sierra Leone; in addition, a total of 70 charity projects will also be supported by this initiative. Last year's Bazaar raised a total of €580,000 for charity.
Opening times: Sat 8 Dec: 11:00 - 19:00; Sun 9 Dec: 10:00 - 18:00
